PURPOSE:

To assist Tribes in Arizona to identify the existence and status of tribal traffic safety initiatives being conducted on Indian reservations.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify, describe and inventory the tribal traffic safety initiatives being conducted on Indian reservation in Arizona.
  • Identify who is collecting traffic safety data and what traffic data being collected pertains to American Indians in Arizona.
  • Design information gathering tools to assist in refining the information compiled on traffic safety initiatives and data.
  • Compile the information into an electronic file.
  • Identify tribal interest to pursue traffic safety resources.
  • Facilitate a meeting of tribal, state and federal traffic safety representatives.
