Tribal Highway Safety Improvement Project

PURPOSE:

To assist Tribes in Arizona to address traffic safety by developing roadway improvement projects.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Develop model processes and guidelines to improve the Tribes' abilities to identify hazardous highway locations, sections and elements. This in turn could result in tribal government eligibility for the Hazard Elimination (HES) program funds.

  • Develop a scope of work for the implementation plan of a pilot Tribal Highway Safety Improvement Program.
