PURPOSE:
To provide consultation and liaison services to the Arizona Department of Economic Security and the 21 tribal governments within the state; to provide technical assistance in developing, implementing, and coordinating the funding and delivery of on-reservation human services; and to analyze and disseminate information including federal and state policies.
WORKPLAN OBJECTIVES:
- Provide consultation services and technical assistance to tribal, state and federal personnel in program development, implementation and coordination of resources.
- Assist tribes in identifying and accessing resources and services to meet human services needs through information dissemination and policy development.
- Identify key federal and state policy issues and legislation and inform the tribes and the Department of their potential impact.
- Provide liaison on behalf of the agency with community programs and professional organizations.
WORKPLAN TASKS:
- Provide consultation services and technical assistance to tribal, state and federal personnel in program development, implementation and coordination of resources.
- Prepare and implement a plan of operation on DES deadlines for training, funding allocations, program implementation and evaluation.
- Assist tribes in identifying and accessing resources and services to meet human services needs through information dissemination and policy development.
- Identify key federal and state policy and legislation and inform the tribes and the Department of their potential impact.
- Provide assistance to supervisory and administrative staff in development of service policies, methodologies and programs.
- Provide liaison on behalf of the agency with community programs and professional organizations.
- Assess service needs and assist in the development of resources to meet those needs.
- Identify human service resources available to tribal governments and inform them of the requirements for accessing those services.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to increase knowledge of various aspects of case planning, service delivery and grant and contract compliance.
