Information for Filing

The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. (ITCA) will be hosting a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site at its office located at 2214 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Volunteers will provide free tax preparation services to individuals and families with low-to-moderate income.

Last year, volunteers at the ITCA VITA site filed tax returns for low-income working families to claim tax benefits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The EITC is the largest federal tax benefit program that provides over $32 billion to eligible families. However, approximately 25% of eligible families do not claim the EITC. On average, families may receive $1,800 in EITC and as high as $4824.

The ITCA VITA site will be operating on Saturday mornings from 8:00am to 12:00pm for 10 weeks beginning February 7, 2009 and continue through April 11, 2009.

If you are interested in participating as a volunteer at the ITCA VITA site or have any questions, please contact ITCA at (602) 258-4822.
